The Tease and the Terror - formed after the promotion of "Quick Relief," The Tease and the Terror is a two-person rock apocalypse based on the desire to terrify and destroy what listeners of music may have thought "rocked.". With Nick Welp on drums (The Terror) and Hollis Webb on guitar and vocals (The Tease), The Tease and the Terror have fused together elements of punk rock, new wave, and a particularly ancient, violent form of Tai Chi to play their own unique brand of of Ninja Rock that has magical aphrodisiacal powers. Check out Nick's comic book, it's will delight and terrify!
"Quick Relief" is the sophomore effort by the unlikely and sometimes unnerving duo of Hollis Webb and Andrew McGregor. After returning to Scotland to record another album, Hollis stayed with Andy at his flat for an entire month. While Andy worked during the daytime, Hollis drank and played video games. At night they retreated to the famed printshop again to record a collection of songs which, although went through several titles including "A Bunch of Shite Songs" and "Americans Are Stupid...blah blah blah," Hollis finally settled on the name "Quick Relief" both for it's catchiness and it's potential as a sweet sexual innuendo.
"Quick Relief" is a darker, moodier, and more focused approach to the genre-switching indie-pop that was the hallmark of the debut release "Miss the Plane." It also eats monkeys.
"Well it's 4 AM and I can't sleep, I pray to God for QUICK RELIEF..."
"Miss the Plane" is the debut album from the project Hollis and the Mighty McGregor. It was in a pub in Glasgow, Scotland that Hollis Webb met Andy McGregor. Both Andy and Hollis were students at the University of Glasgow. Hollis was abroad for a year and had stumbled upon a pub on Byres road that held a weekly open-mic night. Hollis decided one weekend to go and this is where he met Andrew McGregor. Andy worked in the pub and ran the open mic as well often playing songs between performers to fill in time. A friendship was formed after Hollis played a song about asking a girl out on a date by memorizing the 109 natural elements on the periodic table of elements. Hollis had wanted for years to release another album (after his first album with his high school band, Tomorrow's Yesterday) but had neither the money, time, or resources needed to take on such a project. Andy, coincidentally enough had been working on a project studio. The two collaborated and after many late nights full of instant coffee, and numerous bags of fish and chips, the album was done. The title comes from the first line of the song "To Leave."
"Maybe I could just stay with you, I’ll MISS THE PLANE..."
