No exactly at my finest but...it's always good to get a little rocker cred. Check the newest Yellowtape blog.

The gig at Beerland with The Baby Jessicas went well. Much 80's music was played, many lives were lost (just kidding).
This weekend I had a recording session with a one very talented David Ohlerking, a local artist and musician here in Austin. The guy makes great stuff and was a lot fun to work with. He gave me a painting and took me to a great BBQ place on the east side called Sam's BBQ.

Alright, so ch-ch-ch-ch-check this out:
Nick and I have formed an indominable union that will be etched in the pages of history as an apocolyptic force in music as we know it. You can see our MySpace page here. Please be our friend. You won't regret it. We'll clean up in case you want to introduce us to your parents. Our own personal website will be up soon with plenty of pictures of my bare naked arse.
So in the middle of practicing and recording, we came upon another project that has consumed a large majority of our time these days: Yes Nick and I are playing in a band called The Baby Jessicas in a stellar 80's rock musical based on the hit Wynona Rider and Christian Slater movie Heathers. The production is called I Love My Dead Gay Son: The Musical! The fine folks at the Yellowtape Construction Company are doing this and it's been a pleasure so far to work with them. We're less than a month away from opening night. If you're in Austin from June 15th to July 1st you need to check this show out, because it will be like nothing you've ever seen before. It will consume your soul! You can get show gossip and information by clicking here.
In other news, I'm doing quite a bit of recording, not just my tunes but other bands as well. I packed up my stuff last night and went to record a band tentatively called "Bronson" or "The Guppies." I'm not sure which one they are going with. The session was good, I did a 3 track demo for them that they were super pleased with, they were so pleased in fact that they sent me home with $5 and a copy of Lou Reed's Rock n Roll Animal. Hey what can I say?
So, I think that might be it. Please visit the site at www.HollisMusic.com. I promise to update if every single one of you sends me a lewd e-mail.
Love,
Hollis (and friends)
P.S. Both of my albums with the Mighty McGregor are now available on iTunes for download, so if you haven't had a chance to grab one, you should do so by
Clicking here for Miss The Plane or
Clicking here for Quick Relief.
Thanks!

Jesus Christ...
I can't believe it's been nearly 1 mother-lovin' year since I've updated this blog or website.
I'm not dead, incapacitated, or otherwise dysfunctional (at least not yet). I have just been BUSY...too busy to in fact keep you updated on my busy events. It's quite ridiculous actually. I apologize to you all.
Here's a short recap:
Right after I finished my solo acoustic EP: "Songs To Make You Shake, Vol. II" I had the dubious honor of opening for a band called "Flickerstick" at my noble alma mater. You might remember them as being the overly dramatic and a little annoying group from the VH1 show (or was it MTV?) "Band on the Run." Guess what? They aren't any less annoying in person. I digress.
For this gig I employed the same chap who played drums for me for Hollis and the Mighty McGregor's release of "Quick Relief." His name is Nick Welp, and I have learned to regret the day that he came in to my life. For that was the day that I sold my soul to Satan himself and he and I forged an evil duo that has become known as:
"The Tease and the Terror"
We have formed a two-peice rock outfit that promises to either rock your genitalia, get you laid, or eat your soul. Sometimes we do all three. I shall write later. I have to go play a gig with another project I'm working on. It's an eighties rock musical entitled I Love My Ded Gay Son: The Musical.
